To meet the enhanced interest in fine art photography collecting, for the first time at Photomonth you can acquire images by the young Polish artists exhibited at this year's ShowOFF Section. Selected works for sale at a special price and in a limited edition of 25 copies are available from the festival office located at the Camelot Gallery at ul. św. Tomasza 17. 

Photomonth starts Sunday with a meeting with Jerzy Łapiński, and ends on a unique show of the world’s best photojournalism at Klub Fabryka!

For reasons independent of the organiser, Sunday’s scheduled (28.05.2011, 16:00) Meeting with Marek Grajewski and Rafał Drozdowski – authors of the book To photography – has been cancelled. We apologise for the change in plans. 

As with every previous festival Saturday, this one, too, is filled to the brim with photographic rarities. We have something for you on collecting, something on self-publishing, we’ll show you photos by Łukasz Gniadek, and attack with sensitivity in the company of the Warsaw City Rockers.

This Sunday, 29 May at 21.30, come along to Klub Fabryka at ul. Zabłocie 23 for the second of this year’s screenings of photo reportage as part of Slide Nite. This is the final cultural event in Klub Fabryka, which is closing down – you simply can’t miss it! 

We’re starting next weekend with a big surprise. Come and see some films from the first days of Photomonth in Krakow 2011!

A week ago, along with the Dom Norymberski, we were delighted to invite you to a series of film portraits of famous photographers. Today we start another movie marathon with a three part series of films from the BBC, The Genius of Photography. Over the next three days, at 19 in the Cheder Cafe you can see films in sequence part 4 Paper Movies, Part 5 We Are Family and Part 6 Snap Judgements.

It was a weekend of meetings, presentations, books, and consultations! Perhaps you participated in the sixth Portfolio Review, photojournalism workshops, the Archaeology of Photography Foundation campaign, or discussions about collecting and the state of photojournalism. You could have met and talked with the authors of: IS (not), Congo in Limbo, and Rough Cut. A lot happened! And thank you for being with us.

This Sunday’s marathon of meetings and workshops kicks of very early. Academy of Photography workshops start at 10:00, led by Saul Robbins and Katarzyna Majak, devoted to effective self-promotion strategies. The next workshop starts an hour later, also organised by the Academy of Photography – this time participants will be introduced to the secrets of photo reportage by Jarek Praszkiewicz. The events are for pre-registered participants. 

The coming Saturday will be extremely photographic: and no wonder, since it’s 9 May and the 9 Photomonth in Krakow festival is running! All the Main Programme and ShowOFF Section are now open, and are waiting for you all round Krakow. But that's not all that’s waiting for you.
